Cold Medicine, Original Effervescent Tablets

Adults and children 12 years and older: Take 2 tablets fully dissolved in 4 ounces of water (use more or less water to taste). Repeat every 4 hours, not to exceed 8 tablets in any 24-hour period or as directed by a doctor. Children under 12 years of age: consult a doctor. You don't have to drink the residue on the sides or bottom of the glass. All the medicines are in the water.


Provides temporary relief of these major symptoms of colds and flu: runny nose, nasal and sinus congestion, headache, body aches and pains, sneezing, fever, and sore throat.



Active Ingredients: Chlorpheniramine, Maleate, Phenylpropanolamine, Bitartrate, Aspirin. Inactive Ingredients: Artificial and Natural Flavors, Citric Acid, Sodium Bicarbonate, Tableting Aids.


Children and teenagers should not use this medicine for chicken pox or flu symptoms before a doctor is consulted about Reye syndrome, a rare but serious illness reported to be associated with aspirin. Do not take this product for more than 7 days or for fever for more than 3 days unless directed by a doctor. If symptoms, including pain or fever, persist, do not improve or get worse, if new symptoms occur, or if redness or swelling is present, consult a doctor because these could be signs of a serious condition. If sore throat is severe, persists for more than 2 days, is accompanied or followed by fever, headache, rash, nausea or vomiting, consult a doctor promptly. Do not exceed recommended dosage. If nervousness, dizziness or sleeplessness occur, discontinue use and consult a doctor. May cause excitability especially in children. Do not take this product unless directed by a doctor if you are allergic to aspirin, have a breathing problem such as emphysema or chronic bronchitis, have asthma, glaucoma, heart disease, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes, stomach problems that persist or recur, ulcers or bleeding problems, or difficulty in urination due to enlargement of the prostate gland or are on a sodium restricted diet. Each tablet contains 506 mg of sodium. If ringing in the ears or loss of hearing occurs, consult a doctor before taking any more of this product. May cause drowsiness; alcohol, sedatives and tranquilizers may increase the drowsiness effect. Use caution when driving a motor vehicle or operating machinery. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children. In case of accidental overdose, seek professional assistance or contact a Poison Control Cemter immediately. As with any drug, if you are pregnant or nursing a baby, seek the advice of a health professional before using the product. It is especially important not to use aspirin during the last 3 months of pregnancy unless specifically directed to do so by a doctor. Alcohol Warning: If you consume 3 or more alcoholic drinks every day, ask your doctor whether you should take aspirin or other pain relievers/fever reducers. Aspirin may cause stomach bleeding. Avoid alcoholic beverages while taking this product.
