How to Use Western Premium Cedar Grilling Planks

You can use Western’s Premium Cedar Grilling Planks to smoke a variety of meats and vegetables. They can be used in a charcoal, gas, or smokers.
No matter what type of grill you are using, start by soaking the plank in water for at least one hour. This will keep the plank from burning while on the grill. For additional flavor, try soaking the plank in other liquids such as apple juice, wine, or beer.

After soaking, place your meat and/or vegetables on the grilling plank. Be sure to cover as much of the plank surface as possible. Then place the plank on your prepared grill. Cook as you normally would, but keep the lid closed as much as possible. Check the item periodically to ensure the plank is not burning.
When ready, remove the items from the plank, or serve directly on the plank. Dispose of plank after use.
