Directions

Keep refrigerated. Ready to eat. Warming ham: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Remove all packaging materials and place ham face down directly into baking dish or roasting pan. (Place whole ham on its side.) Cover tightly with lid, foil or place in cooking bag and bake at 350 degrees F for approximately 12-15 minutes per pound. (Estimated cooking times: Half ham - approx. 2 hours; whole ham - approx. 3 hours.) Note: If you intend to glaze ham, remove ham from oven 1/2 hour before end of cooking time recommended above. Follow "glazing ham" instructions below. Glazing ham: Remove ham from oven 1/2 hour before end of cooking time recommended above. Empty contents of glaze packet into small saucepan. Add 1 tablespoon of warm water. Heat glaze mixture on high, stirring constantly, until glaze begins to boil. Remove immediately from heat. Using a glazing brush, apply glaze immediately by brushing it evenly over the surface of the warm ham. (For thicker coating, allow glaze to cool for 4 to 5 minutes before applying to ham.) If ham was placed in cooking bag, carefully cut bag open and pull away from ham then apply glaze. Bake glazed ham uncovered at 350 degrees F for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove glazed ham from oven and serve. Refrigerate ham immediately after use. Carving instructions: To carve entire ham, begin cutting slices off the large (butt) end of ham until the first spiral slices are visible. Then make cuts along the natural lines on the ham's surface and along the bone to remove sections of slices. Cut first along (A) and then down each side parallel to the bone as far as desired. The top section slices may then be removed. Then cut along (B) to remove the lower right section. To remove the final section, cut around the bone along line (C). Handling: if serving within 7-10 days of purchase, keep ham refrigerated. For longer storage, we suggest freezing the ham. For best results, use within 3 months. To prepare glaze: Empty glaze packet into a small saucepan with 1 1/2 tablespoons water. Stir constantly. Bring glaze to a full boil and remove from heat. To glaze ham: Remove ham from oven and increase oven temperature to 425 degrees F. Brush glaze over ham and return uncovered ham to oven for 10 minutes. Ham is now ready to serve.
