After inserting batteries, place the pencil in the opening at the top of the sharpener, push down and the iPoint will begin to sharpen the pencil. To remove pencil shavings: Turn the top of the reservoir counter-clockwise as shown, lift off the lid and empty the shavings directly into the trash. Replace the top of the reservoir before operating.
