Directions

Sort & Rinse: Dry beans, peas and lentils are natural agricultural food products. Despite the use of modern cleaning equipment, it is not always possible to remove all foreign material. Sort, remove foreign unwanted materials, then rinse under running water to wash away any dirt or dust. Soaking: Split peas do not require soaking. Baking Cooking Instructions: Stove Top: Rinse and drain 1 cup (250 ml) dry split peas. Add rinsed split peas in a saucepan and cover with 3 cups (750 ml) water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer uncovered until tender, approximately 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. 1 cup (250 ml) of dry split peas makes 2 cups (500 ml) of cooked split peas. Store in a cool, dry place.
