Using a digital thermometer, cook to internal temperature at 180 degrees F to ensure fully cooked chicken. Safe Handling Instructions: This product was prepared from inspected and passed meat and/or poultry. Some food products may contain bacteria that could cause illness if the product is mishandled or cooked improperly. For your protection, follow these safe handling instructions. Keep refrigerated or frozen. Thaw in refrigerator or microwave. Keep raw meat and poultry separate from other foods. Wash working surfaces (including cutting boards), utensils, and hands after touching raw meat or poultry. Cook thoroughly. Keep hot foods hot. Refrigerate leftovers immediately or discard. Cooking Instructions (appliances vary. Cooking times approximate. Adjust accordingly to ensure internal temperature reaches 180 degrees F): Conventional Oven: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Remove neck and giblets. 2. Sprinkle chicken inside and out with salt and pepper to taste. Check the bird alert thermometer to see that it is completely inserted. Place chicken, breast side up, on rack in roasting pan. Stuff is desired (add 20 to 30 minutes cooking time for stuffed roaster). Tie legs together. Roaster Weight: 5 to 6 lbs; 6 to 7 lbs. Approximate Cooking Time: 1-3/4 to 2-1/4 hours; 2 to 2-1/2 hours. 3. Remove roaster from oven and discard thermometer. Allow your roaster to stand 10 to 15 minutes for easy carving. Keep refrigerated.
