Keep refrigerated or frozen. Thaw in refrigerator or microwave. Keep raw meat and poultry separate from other foods. Wash working surfaces (including cutting boards), utensils and hands after touching raw meat or poultry. Cook thoroughly. Keep hot foods hot. Refrigerate leftovers immediately or discard. Cooking Suggestions: Roasting: If frozen, first thaw whole chicken in refrigerator. Rinse thawed chicken with cool water. Place chicken on roasting rack. Place in middle of very hot oven (450-500 degrees). Cooking at high temperatures helps keep the chicken moist inside while the skin becomes crispy. Generally, allow about 10-15 minutes per pound or until minimum internal temperature of 170 degrees F is reached at the thickest part the chicken. Juices should run clear. Best if chicken is allowed to rest 15 minutes before carving. Keep refrigerated or frozen.
