Cooking Directions on the Stove: 1. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. 2. Stir in rice (Cooking Measurement Chart: 5 Servings (3/4 Cup Cooked): 1 cup rice; 2-1/2 cups water; Makes 3-1/2 cups (cups cooked). 9 Servings (3/4 Cup Cooked): 2 cups rice; 5 cups water; Makes 7 cups (cups cooked). 14 Servings (3/4 Cup Cooked): 3 cups rice; 7-1/2 cups water; Makes 10-1/2 cups (cups cooked). For drier rice use 1/4 cup less water. For moister rice, use 1/4 cup more water). 3. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes or until all water is absorbed. Cooking Directions in the Microwave (It is recommended that only 1 cup rice be prepared in the microwave at a time. Microwave ovens vary. Cooking times are approximate): 1. In a 2-1/2 quart microwave-safe dish, combine 3 cups water and 1 cup rice (Add 1 tbsp butter and 1 tsp salt per cup of uncooked rice, if desired). 2. Microwave uncovered on High for 10 minutes. Reduce setting to 50% power, microwave uncovered for 20 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes.
