Preparation. Timer, clock or watch. Old towels (To cover counters to protect against stains). Old shirt (To cover you against stains). Moisturizer or petroleum jelly. (Smear along hairline to guard against stains). Damp paper towel (To wipe product off skin to prevent staining). Shampoo (Preferably for color-treated hair). 1. Smear a little moisturizer or petroleum jelly around your hairline to minimize staining. Cover countertops. 2. Wearing gloves, shake color base bottle. Pour the entire contents of color base bottle into applicator bottle. Replace caps. 3. Break off triangular tip of applicator bottle with thumb and index finger, pointing tip away from face. 4. Put your thumb on the applicator opening. Shake applicator bottle thoroughly to mix. Protect clothing and surfaces with old towels or shirt. Apply haircolor mixture right away for maximum effectiveness. Application. First time application. Important: Read thoroughly before starting. Apply to hair. 1. The color of the product mixture always looks different from the final, natural-looking results you'll get. Don't worry, this is normal. Squeeze on mixture. Start where hair is grayest. Then apply product to the rest of your hair. Gently massage product into hair. Do not add water. Cover all your hair. Don't forget the back and sides! Discard unused mixture. (Note: use as much mixture as needed to wet hair thoroughly and uniformly). 2. Important: start timing yourself after application is completed. Wait 5 minutes. Don't guess: use timer, clock or watch. Wait only 5 minutes or a bit less (to prevent haircolor from going too dark). Rinse, shampoo, dry and style. 3. In shower, rinse out product thoroughly until water runs clear. Shampoo and rinse again. We recommend Just For Men™ 2-in-1 shampoo & conditioner to keep your color looking fresh. Dry and style as usual. Repeat applications. Repeat applications (for current users with longer hair who see gray roots growing in). Apply quickly. Part hair every half inch or so and squeeze mixture only on gray roots. Do not lather in. Do not add water. Wait only 4 minutes. Then, during the next minute (the 5th minute) comb mixture through all your hair. Keep combing, wiping excess mixture from comb into hair. Discard unused mixture. Rinse and dry hair following "Rinse, shampoo, dry and style" directions (step 3 in "Application"). To keep some gray at the sideburns or temples, apply to those areas last, leave on for a few seconds and then wipe away. Remember to perform the allergy patch test 48 hours before each use. Easy step-by-step directions. Before you color read this first. Do a simple allergy patch test 48 hours before each application. Allergic reactions (itching, burning, redness) to permanent hair dyes, including Just For Men, can occur and in rare instances can be severe. A reaction can occur even though you had no reaction during previous usage. You must do this patch test on the inside bend of your elbow 48 hours ahead of each and every use in order to minimize the risk of an allergic reaction. (This is an allergy test, not a color preview.) 1. Wash test area. With mild soap and water, wash an area about the size of a quarter on the inside bend of your elbow. Pat dry. 2. Mix and apply product. Unscrew the entire cap from the natural color developer bottle (do not break off the tip at this point) and the color base bottle cap. Mix small, equal parts of the color base and the natural color developer in a plastic bowl with a plastic spoon. (Do not use metallic utensils.) Tightly recap both bottles. Apply mixture with a cotton ball or swab to a test area the size of a quarter on the inside bend of your elbow. Allow to dry. 3. Do not wash, cover or disturb test area for 48 hours. Examine the test area during the next 48 hours, if you get no reaction on the unwashed patch test site after 48 hours, go ahead with full application of Just For Men. Note: if at any time during the testing, you see redness or rash, or feel burning, itching or other irritation, you may be allergic. Stop!! Wash area immediately and keep it uncovered. You must not use just for men or any other haircoloring. 4. What to do if you have a reaction during or within the next 48 hours after coloring your hair. If during coloring you experience: Any stinging, burning and/or rash, shampoo out immediately and discontinue use as this may be an indication of a more serious reaction. Do not color your hair again before seeking medical advice. Rapidly spreading skin rash, dizziness, faintness, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, tightness of chest, hives or swelling to eyes/face, blistering of skin or scalp weeping - seek immediate medical attention. If after coloring or on the following days you experience: problems such as skin itching, skin rash, swelling to eyes/face, blistering, skin or scalp weeping - seek immediate medical attention.

If color is satisfactory, proceed to full-head application immediately. If color is too dark, leave the color on your hair a minute or two less, or try a lighter shade. 8. What about coloring relaxed, straightened or permed hair? If you have already used a permanent or hair relaxer, wait at least two weeks before using Just For Men. If you plan to relax or perm your hair, do so at least two weeks before your next use of Just For Men. 9. What if I've previously used another haircoloring? You can still use just for men. If you now use a gradual restorer like Grecian Formula 16®, stop applications. Shampoo daily for one week before switching to Just For Men. 10. If I don't use all the product, can I save it for future use? No! Once mixed, the product becomes inactive within an hour and will not work at a later time. You have already experienced any reaction to this or other haircolor products.
You have an irritated, sensitive or damaged scalp.
Haircolor products can cause allergic reactions which in rare cases can be severe. If you have a tattoo, the risks of an allergic reaction may be increased. Before using this product, you must perform a preliminary 48-hours skin allergy patch test according to accompanying directions.

In rare cases, use of hair dye has been associated with skin depigmentation (skin lightening or loss of skin color), which may be temporary or permanent. If you notice any skin depigmentation or other allergic reaction such as discomfort or severe itching, discontinue use immediately.
Do not use this product at all if you have skin depigmentation problems such as white patches on your skin (a condition called vitiligo) or if you have a family history of skin depigmentation problems, as an allergic reaction may cause temporary or permanent loss of skin pigment.
Caution: this product contains ingredients which may cause skin irritation on certain individuals and a preliminary 48-hour skin allergy patch test according to accompanying directions should be done first. This product must not be used for dyeing the eyelashes or eyebrows - to do so may cause blindness.

Before use, carefully check the skin area(s) where just for men is to be applied for irritations, cuts, scratches or other unusual conditions. Do not use this or any other haircoloring until your skin is in good condition. In case of a reaction while coloring hair, such as stinging, rash or burning sensation on the skin, shampoo out immediately and discontinue use.
Do not use on eyebrows or eyelashes; to do so may cause blindness.
Do not use on body hair.
When possible, remove contact lenses before applying haircolor.
If mixture gets in eyes, rinse immediately and thoroughly with cool water. If irritation persists, call a doctor.
Keep all haircoloring products out of reach of children. Do not ingest.
