Hogue Genesis Wine Meritage

Description

The majority of Washingtonís wine grapes are planted east of the Cascade Range in the Columbia Valley appellation, which encompasses the Yakima Valley and Walla Walla appellations. The Columbia Valley covers 18,000 square miles and provides a huge range of geographical and climatic conditions for grape growing. Hogue Cellars wine is made with grapes that have intense fruit flavors and high natural acidity, which is why it is one of the most recognized names in Washington wines. The Genesis Columbia Valley Red Meritage captures the best qualities of its components, merlot and cabernet sauvignon. Flavors are of rich black cherry, spicy oak, and a touch of orange zest, with vanilla spice on the finish. Serve with braised short ribs, rosemary-herbed lamb chops, or grilled T-bone steak.
