Jed Stelle's. In 1768 during an incredible meteor shower, a baby was born into the Shawnee Tribe. Tribal elders believed this to be an omen and proclaimed that this baby boy would one day be a great chief of their tribe. Chief Tecumseh (Tee-Cum-Sa) would always be introduced as having been born under the sign of a shooting star. Jed's father, an American historian of Tecumseh's era, had a great respect for this native American hero and gave Jed the middle name of Tecumseh.
