Vicks Humidifier Filtered CoolMoisture

Directions

How it works: The Vicks filtered cool moisture humidifier utilizes a self regulating evaporative system that adjusts output for maximum comfort while also preventing over humidification of room. 1. Water tank feeds water into the base of the humidifier. 2. Water is then absorbed into the wicking filter. The antimicrobial-treated wick filter 3 helps trap minerals and impurities. 3. Dry room air is pulled into the humidifier and through the filter where it absorbs moisture. 4. Pure natural moisture is circulated into the room, leaving no white dust. Features: 5. Two output settings. High for maximum moisture or larger rooms. Low for sound sleeping or smaller rooms. 6. Break resistant water tank. 7. Semi-translucent 0.8 gallon tank shows water level. Operates up to 20 hrs on a single filling. 8. Large tank cap opening for easy cleaning. Tank is designed to drain completely to avoid standing water.

Keeping you and your home more comfortable with humidification: Cold air is unable to hold as much moisture as warm air, so as cold temperatures set in humidity levels drop. Even more moisture is pulled from the air when we heat our homes during the fall and winter months, with indoor humidity often dropping to as low as 10% - which is drier than the air in the Sahara Desert. Some people can experience discomfort such as dry nose, throat, skin and eyes when the indoor relative humidity level is below 25%. In the US, mostly during the winter months, one in five people suffer from the flu and children come down with an average of 7-10 colds each year. During cold and flu season, maintaining a comfortable everyday humidity level of 40-60% has a number of benefits for personal comfort and provides temporary relief from cough and cold symptoms. Using a humidifier can help raise indoor humidity levels. Good for your environment: Homes kept at 40-60% relative humidity-the optimal range - are likely to have fewer flu viruses lingering in the air and on surfaces such as sink faucets, door handles, and countertops. The typical flu virus can survive in the environment at least 24 hours. Maintaining a relative humidity of 40-60% can reduce the survival of the flu virus on surfaces and in the air 4. Additional benefits of using a humidifier to increase indoor humidity levels include: Personal comfort: Help temporarily relieve cough and congestion. Help keep throat and nasal passages hydrated. Help you breathe better and sleep more comfortably. Help temporarily relieve dry nose, flaky skin, chapped lips and general dry air discomforts. Home comfort: Help reduce static shocks. Help prevent dry out damage to plants, furniture and paintings. The antimicrobial in the filter does not protect users or others against bacteria, viruses, germs or other disease-causing organisms. Always follow the humidifier's instructions regarding cleaning, maintenance and servicing of your humidifier. 4 A study by Environmental Health and Engineering (Environmental Health 2010, 9:55) shows that keeping indoor air at an RH level of 40-60% can reduce survival of flu viruses on surfaces and in the air compared to lower RH levels.
