R4 Shear Test Results: Diameter: No. 9; 876 lbf avg. ultimate load. No. 10; 1,016 lbf avg. ultimate load. No. 12: 1,210 lbf avg. ultimate load. Please note the above stated values are ultimate load, tested after ASTM D 1761, wood to wood connection. The construction design purposes an applicable safety margin should be applied. For safety factor requirements in your area contact your local building official, architect or engineer. Test conducted in wood with a specific gravity 0.67.
