TimberLOK Wood Screw 50 ea BOX

Directions

Installation Instructions: TimberLOK should be installed using an impact driver or high torque 1/2 inches variable speed drill (minimum 18V if cordless). Choose the proper length fastener so that the threads fully engage the main member (second piece). Bring the washer head flush to wood surface or countersink if desired.

Description

64 mm. Replaces 3/8 inches lag screws. LOK Line. Meet code. Lower cost. No predrilling! Free hex driver bit. Code compliant. TimberLOK is a heavy duty wood screw that is ideal for installing decks, fences, headers, kitchen cabinets and more. Guaranteed Corrosion Resistance: TimberLOK is guaranteed not to rust or corrode for the life of the project. The coating on this fastener has been tested in wood treatment chemicals, such as ACQ, and found to provide equivalent protection to code-approved hot-dipped galvanized coatings. TimberLOK is not recommended for use in saltwater applications (within 1,000 feet). Comparative Data: The statement Replaces 3/8 inches Lags refers to the comparison of lateral (shear) design values for the TimberLOK as shown in our evaluation report and lag screw values as published in the current National Design Specification for Wood Construction (NDS). (See table). For critical applications, a Professional Engineer (PE) may be consulted to determine proper connection design including the number and location of fasteners to meet local code and specific load requirements. Lateral Design Values (Z) for single shear connections loaded perpendicular to Grain (lbf): Wood: S. Pine, D. Fir, SCL (Structural composite lumber [LVL, PSL and LSL]); Specific Gravity (Wood species identified typically have average specific gravity similar to the values shown on this table): 0.50; TimberLOK 2-1/2 inches: 220; TimberLOK 4 inches +: 260; Lag screws 3/8 inches: 130; Lag screws 1/4 inches: 110; Common nail 20d: 170; Common nail 16d: 141. Design values based on 1-1/2 inches side member thickness and penetration in main member as shown. For thinner materials, refer to the NDS or ICC report for appropriate adjustment. These values may be subject to adjustment faders (Section 10.3 in NDS) based on conditions during installation or expected during service life. F 2.5 head marking.
