Estimating: Allow approximately 50-60 sq ft on dense surfaces. Porous surfaces may require more material. Do not exceed 75 sq ft per quart. Surface Preparation: Surface preparation is mechanical abrasion. For oil-contaminated surfaces, using steam cleaning in conjunction with a strong emulsifying detergent may be considered. Rinse thoroughly with water. Allow the concrete to dry before applying DAP Concrete Bonding Additive. Application as a Bonding Agent: Stir DAP Concrete Bonding Additive thoroughly before use. Do not dilute. For hand application, wet brushes or rollers before use and shake out excess water. Extremely porous surfaces may require two coats. Allow to dry, approximately 1 hour depending on temperature and humidity, before placing repair mortars, concrete or topping, Application as a Polymer Modifier: Add approximately 1 quart of DAP Concrete Bonding additive per 8 lbs or cement content in the mortal material. Add enough admix-solution to dry mix to form a stiff mortar. Thin mixes cause shrinkage and cracking. Patching Concrete Steps, Curbs, Joining New Concrete: Follow surface preparation instructions above. Prime coat bonding surfaces with DAP Concrete Bonding Additive. When prime coat is tacky, apply fresh mortar made with Admix-Solution. Do not allow Concrete Bonding additive to dry out. If primed surface dries, apply a second coat of Concrete Bonding Additive and repair immediately. Tuck Pointing: For an extra strong mortar for brick; applying wall caps; tuck-pointing and filling cracks, use reinforced Mortar-Mix as indicated above. Resurfacing Walls and Floors: Follow surface preparation instructions above. Traces of silicates, silicones, etc., used for sealing and waterproofing may prevent a bond of new material. Make a patch test before proceeding. Prime with additive coating and use and extra prime coat on all areas where new concrete will be feather edged. Caution: Use only sharp crushed stone free of clay and humus along with an ample ratio of cement. Do not use river sand. Clean Up: Clean tools and equipment with detergent and water immediately following use. Clean drips and over spray with water while still wet. Dried material may require mechanical abrasion for removal. For Best Results: Do not use below 50 degrees F. Keep from freezing. Do not apply to frozen or frost filled surfaces.
