Directions

Always mix bone meal with the soil for maximum results. Vegetables, Annuals, Perennials & Bedding Plants: New Plantings: During bed preparation, mix in with your soil amendment, 1 cup per 10 square feet, or 5 cups for every 50 feet of planting row. Till the soil to a depth of 4 to 8 inches and water well. Established Plants: Side dress anytime during the growing season. Use 1 cup for every 10 square feet of growing area or 5 cups for every 50 lineal feet of row. Work into the soil gently and water well. Potted Plants: New Planting: When plotting plants, mix 2 tablespoons per gallon of potting soil, or add 1/2 cup per 1/2 cubic foot (approx 5 gallons) of potting soil. Mix the soil and bone meal thoroughly. Water well. Established Plants: Sprinkle 2 tablespoons for a 6 inch container, or 8 tablespoons for as 12 inch container. Scratch into the soil gently, and cover with a thin layer (approx 1/2 to 1 inch) of organic mulch when possible. Water thoroughly. Trees & Shrubs: New Planting: Before you plant, add 2 cups per 1/2 cubic foot (approx 5 gallons) of soil that will be added to the planting hole. Once planting is completed, water thoroughly. Established Plants: Use 1 cup for every inch of trunk diameter (measured at 4 inch - 6 inch above the soil line). Work into the soil gently, use inside of the drip line. Water thoroughly. Bulbs: New Planting: During bed preparation, mix in 1-1/2 cups per 10 square feet of growing area. Mix thoroughly into the soil to a depth of 4 to 6 inches, or as needed depending on the bulb. Individual Bulb Planting: Once you have dug planting hole to the correct depth, add 1 tablespoon to the soil beneath each bulb as you go with growing buds pointing upwards. Cover with soil to the original soil level. Water thoroughly. Established Plants: Sprinkle 1/2 cup for every 10 square feet. For individual bulbs, use 1 tablespoon in a 3 to 4 inch ring around the plant. Gently mix into the soil surface and water well. Store in a cool dry place. Avoid direct sunlight.
