McCormick Chili Tex-Mex Seasoning Mix


 

Directions

Prep time: 5 minutes. Cook time: 15 minutes. Makes 4 servings. You will need: 1 pkg. McCormick seasoning mix. 1 lb. lean ground beef or turkey. 1 can (141/2 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained. 1 can (15 to 16 oz.) kidney, pinto or black beans, undrained. Assorted toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped onions, tomatoes or cilantro. Directions: 1. Brown meat in large skillet on medium-high heat. Drain fat. 2. Stir in Seasoning Mix, tomatoes and beans. Bring to boil. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve with toppings, if desired. Try this twist! Southwestern chili tortilla bake: add 1 can (8 3/4 oz.) whole kernel corn, drained, and 1 can (4 1/2 oz.) chopped green chiles with the tomatoes and beans. Cover bottom of greased 11x7-inch baking dish with 3 flour tortillas (8-inch). Layer with 1/2 of the chili mixture and 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese. Repeat tortilla, chili and cheese layers. Bake in preheated 350 degrees F oven 30 minutes or until heated through. Makes 8 servings.
