Directions

Instructions: 1. Remove smart clips and insert into vehicle's center air vent. Tighten recharge hose to can by turning it clockwise. Activate digital gauge battery by removing clear tab. 2. Open vehicle hood, locate the low-side service port and remove port cap. Recharge hose will only connect to the low-side port. 3. Start the engine and turn on A/C. Set controls to maximum cool, maximum air flow and recirculation mode. Close all windows and doors of vehicle. 4. Shake the can well. Connect the quick connect coupler to the low side service port by pulling the connector ring back as you push the fitting onto the port. Ensure coupler locks in place to prevent leaking. 5. Determine the ideal PSI level using temperature pressure chart and check system pressure. Some vehicles with expansion valves cannot be accurately charged using low side pressure gauge only. If your gauge is not increasing, stop charging and check air vent temperature. The PSI may only increase to 25-30 PSI on these systems. Ambient temperature: 65 degrees F (18 degrees C) - Low pressure gauge (PSI): 25-35 psi / 172-241 kPa; Ambient temperature: 70 degrees F (21 degrees C) - Low pressure gauge (PSI): 35-45 psi / 241-276 kPa; Ambient temperature: 75 degrees F (24 degrees C) - Low pressure gauge (PSI): 35-45 psi / 241-310 kPa; Ambient temperature: 80 degrees F (27 degrees C) - Low pressure gauge (PSI): 40-50 psi / 276-345 kPa; Ambient temperature: 85 degrees F (29 degrees C) - Low pressure gauge (PSI): 45-55 psi / 310-379 kPa; Ambient temperature: 90 degrees F (32 degrees C) - Low pressure gauge (PSI): 45-55 psi / 310-379 kPa; Ambient temperature: 95 degrees F + (35 degrees C+) - Low pressure gauge (PSI): 50-55 psi / 345-379 kPa. Read gauge pressure when the compressor clutch cycles on. If the gauge reads: Below 25 psi: system is low on refrigerant begin recharging process. 25-55 psi: system may be improperly charged. Check smart clips, blue coloring indicates cool air is flowing. Above 55 psi: If compressor clutch is cycled on, do not recharge - seek a mechanic's assistance. 6. Add refrigerant to the system. With smart clips removed per step 1, squeeze trigger while continually rotating the can in a sweeping motion from the 12 o'clock to 3 o'clock position. 7. Check gauge pressure every 10-15 seconds by releasing the trigger. Continue process until the gauge reaches the ideal psi level according to the chart. If your gauge is not increasing, stop charging and check smart clips as directed in next step. Do not overcharge. Do not vent. 8. Check smart clips for temperature. With vehicle in park, press gas pedal slightly to increase RPM and check color for. Blue = cool, approaching optimum fill. Green = max cold charging is complete. Note: It outside temperature is above 95*, only the blue clip needs to change. 9. Stop charging when correct psi level is reached or smart clips indicate the a/c is blowing cold. Remove the charging hose from the service port and store can in a cool, dry place or discard according to state or local guidelines. Bonus: Recharge hose can be detached and smart clips reinserted into cap for reuse. Not for use on hybrid/electric vehicles with non-belt driven (electric driven) compressor.
