Other Description

Let's face it. We all know that cats are picky... But you can't really fault them for it. They only want the best, and they're just not getting it from most commercially available dry foods. What your cat's craving is a low glycemic diet rich in poultry, fish, and meat, not potatoes, corn or other grains that your little carnivore connoisseur wasn't built to eat. With Nutrisca® cat food, nothing will stand in the way of your little foodie and her food. What's the glycemic index? It is a rating for the speed at which a carbohydrate-containing food breaks down into glucose. Since cats don't require any carbohydrates, this is a very important metric to know. Here's how it works: 1. Let's start with a potato: a high glycemic food. 2. Because a potato is high glycemic, a cat's digestive system turns it into glucose (sugar) really fast. 3. When blood glucose levels are elevated quickly, the body produces insulin. 4. When insulin is present, fat (which is normally turned into fuel) gets stored instead. When fat gets stored, a cat gains weight. Low glycemic foods are below 55 on the glycemic index. Nutrisca® salmon recipe cat food is well below that level with a rating of 9. High in protein, with wild-caught salmon as the # 1 ingredient since your little carnivore requires high quality animal protein sources. All animal proteins are exclusively sourced from fish to aid cats with food sensitivities. Natural fibers from fruits and vegetables help support digestion and intestinal health. Antioxidants from vitamins A and E and premium fruits and vegetables, such as cranberries, blueberries, apples and carrots, help maintain a healthy immune system. Balanced omega 6 & 3 fatty acids, from high quality ingredients such as salmon and sunflower oil, help support healthy skin and a shiny coat. Salmon is also a good source of DHA. Improved absorption of key trace minerals using a blend of both chelated and sulfated forms of minerals. No gluten, corn, wheat, Soy, BHA/BHT antibiotics, added hormones, artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Guaranteed analysis. Crude protein (min) - 36.00%. Crude fat (min) - 16.00%.
