Easy directions: You will need: 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine, softened*. 1/2 cup water. 1 Egg*. *Low fat spreads and egg substitutes are not recommended. Before you begin: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare 8x8x2-inch pan by lightly greasing bottom and sides with non-stick cooking spray. 1. Place full pouch crust mix in medium bowl. Cut in softened butter or margarine with a fork or pastry blender until mixture is crumbly. (Electric mixer not recommended.) 2. Spoon crust mixture into prepared pan. Press firmly into bottom of pan. 3. Bake 8-10 minutes or until edges begin to brown. 4. Sprinkle full pouch pecans evenly over crust. Set aside. 5. Stir full pouch filling mix, water and egg together with a whisk until blended. Immediately after stirring, pour gently over crust and pecans. (Filling mixture will settle if not used immediately. If this occurs, stir again before pouring over crust and pecans. Some lumps are typical.) Pecans will float to the top; gently shake pan to redistribute nuts. 6. Bake 28-32 minutes or until center does not jiggle when lightly shaken and top begins to brown. Cool completely. Store loosely covered at room temperature. Makes 16 bars. High altitude: No adjustment necessary.
