Keepin' it Fresh: The enemies of roasted coffee are oxygen, moisture, and light. Under ideal circumstances (a dark, dry, airtight environment) your freshly roasted beans have a shelf-life of several weeks once the seal on this bag is opened. Many people store their coffee in the freezer, which is great as long as you pop the bag into a sealed container to protect the internal moisture in the beans.
Product Details
Speeder & Earl's opened its doors in June of 1993. Several billion coffee beans and a couple of hundred thousand lattes later, we're still here, roasting and brewing some of the finest coffee in the Northeast. Over the last decade we've expanded our family owned and operated business, but we still focus on quality and customer service. We roast all of our coffee in small batches and take the time to educate our customers about the subtle nuances of different arabica beans (there are a lot of them - we roast over 20 varietals from around the globe). For a full list of our coffees visit, click, or call today. Mind the Grind: We recommend that you purchase your coffee in whole bean form and then grind it on an as needed basis. This not only ensures a superior cup, but it also allows you to keep your coffee fresh for a longer period of time (and remember, ground coffee absorbs odors from food stored with it). Assuming that you are using a spinning blade mill grinder, we offer the following guidelines, which can and should be modified to suit your personal taste: Coarse: 6 seconds (French press). Medium: 10 seconds (automatic drip). Fine: 24 seconds (Melitta drip cone). Extra Fine: 30 seconds (espresso). Ultra Fine: 35 seconds (Turkish coffee). www.speederandearls.com. Scan it!
