*Filter replacement is essential for product to perform as represented. Replace filter every 40 gallons (about 2 months for the average family). Water coolers require 2 filters; replace both filters every 80 gallons (about 4 months for the average family). Getting started*. Wash your hands before unwrapping the filter. Pitchers/dispensers: 1. Soak new filter. 2. Insert filter into reservoir. 3. Add cold top water. It is normal for carbon dust to appear in your first 2 pitchers. Discard this water or use it to water plants. Water coolers: 1. Soak new filter. 2. Insert filters into cooler. 3. Fill bottle with water. Discard four glasses from each tap after filters are replaced. *See user's guide for detailed instructions.
