Directions

Twist to remove cap. Directions for preparation and use: Mix 1 part powder with 2 parts room temperature water and blend until lumps have dissolved completely. Feeding frequency: Age in weeks: feeding frequency: 0-2 weeks: every 2 hours. 3-5 weeks: every 3-4 hours. 6 weeks & older: decrease amount of formula; increase feeding of solid food. For pregnant, nursing, or convalescing cats, mix 2 tablespoons of formula with cat's food each day. Discard prepared formula after 24 hours. Discard unused powder 2 months after opening. Do not freeze. Consult your veterinarian for feeding advice. Feeding directions: If possible, the newborn kitten should nurse on the mother for at least 2 days. The mother's first milk includes colostrum, which provides extra nutrition and short-term protection against some diseases. Hartz® Precision Nutrition™ Milk Replacer for Kittens can be fed to orphaned, small, or weak kittens from birth to 5 weeks old. Weaning: At 6 weeks old, you can begin to wean the kitten. Coax your kitten to lap the milk replacer from a shallow saucer by letting it lick formula from your finger. Once the kitten begins lapping on its own, mix dry kitten food with warm milk replacer and allow dry food to soften to a gruel. Thicken the gruel slightly each day by adding less milk replacer until the kitten is eating dry food. Hartz® Precision Nutrition™ Milk Replacer for Kittens can also be used as a food supplement for the mother while pregnant and nursing her kittens or for convalescing cats. This product is intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only. Hartz® Precision Nutrition™ Milk Replacer for Kittens should be served warm (room or body temperature). Do not heat formula because milk may be too hot. To warm the formula, pour the desired amount into the Hartz® Precision Nutrition™ pet nursing bottle, and then place the bottle in a warm water bath. Before feeding, test temperature of milk by squeezing a drop on your arm. It should feel comfortably warm.
