Repotting container plants. 1. Select a new container one or two inches larger than the existing one. 2. Gently remove the plant. 3. Line new container with ferti-lome Ultimate Potting Mix. 4. Place plant and add potting mix around the sides and work it in with your fingers. 5. Add more mix on the top of the pot. 6. Water thoroughly. 7. Add more mix if needed. Outdoor container gardens. 1. Most outdoor containers will grow great shrubs, flowers, plants, herbs and vegetables. 2. Always line the bottom of outdoor containers with some gravel or other aggregate to insure the drain holes remain clear. 3. Pour several inches of Ultimate Potting Mix right from the bag to prepare for transplanting and pat down firmly. 4. Position plants, fill with soil, and pat down for good support. 5. Water thoroughly. 6. Outdoor plantings should be checked often to maintain adequate moisture levels. Transplanting bedding plants. 1. Mix garden soil (1 part Ultimate mix to1 part native soil). 2. Prepare holes twice the root ball dimensions. 3. Place plant at same depth as the original container. 4. Gently fill in around plant with garden mix and water to settle in, adding more soil as needed. Fertilization Recommendations: Begin with complete fertilizer within 2 weeks of transplanting or after seed germination.
