Directions
Directions: 1. Clean the repair area using sandpaper or wire brush to remove loose rust and dirt. Remove and discard the brown paper liner from the bandage. Remove and discard the clear liner from both sides of the bandage. If outside temperatures are below 21 degrees C (70 degrees F), preheat the area by running the motor until the metal surface is warm. When temperatures are over 21 degrees C (70 degrees F), preheating is not necessary. 2. Tightly wrap the bandage over the repair area. Overlap the bandage by 2.5 cm to create a strong double layer. For sections of the exhaust pipe that run very hot, first place a piece of aluminum foil or can over the repair area before wrapping the bandage (Measure circumference. May require more than one kit). 3. For initial support of the bandage, tightly wrap adhesive tape or wire over the bandage at both ends and the center of the repair. 4. The bandage must be tightly wrapped and secured over the repair area to ensure that it will fuse to the metal during heat cure. Idle motor or drive the vehicle for 20 minutes to heat up the repair area and fuse the bandage to the metal surface.
