Henrik von Newmanstrudel was known throughout Holland as the Tulipmeister, famous for his polka-dot tulips. Deiter Der Petre-Metre was known as the Poppymeister, famous for his purple poppies. At the annual Amsterdam flower banquet, Henrik and Deiter got into a violent argument and began throwing tulip bulbs and poppy bulbs at each other. Deiter bonked Henrik with a 90 mph poppy bulb that split open on his forehead and popped its poppy seeds all over Henrik's salad. Deiter apologized, they shared the salad, embraced and danced the poppy polka. This is their delectable dressing passed along by generations of Newmanstrudels to you.
