Easy to use*. Wash your hands before unwrapping the filter. 1. Flush filter with cold water for 15 seconds. 2. Insert filter into reservoir. 3. Add cold tap water. 4. Replace filter every 40 gallons (151 liters) or two months. *See user's guide for detailed instructions. It is normal for carbon dust to appear in your first three pitchers. Discard this water or use it to water plants. For best results, store the Brita® pitcher in your refrigerator or out of direct sunlight. Important notice: Please read the performance data sheet enclosed in the box for complete details. The Brita® pitcher filter is not intended to purify water. Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.
