Kaytee Sunflower Hearts & Chips: Sunflower seeds attract more birds than any other grain. Fallen seeds will not germinate either, decreasing unwanted growth in your yard and flower beds. Sunflower seeds are highly nutritious and perfect for feeding year-round. Attracts: grosbeaks, titmice, buntings, finches, chickadees, juncos, cardinals, towhees & more. How to Attract Wild Birds: Provide food year-round: Wild birds spend much of their day looking for food. It takes a lot of energy to fly, so they're always looking for their next meal. This is why it's so easy to attract wild birds with seeds and blends. Birds will frequent your feeders more often and stay longer if you provide a consistent, reliable source of high-energy seeds and blends from Kaytee. Provide a source of fresh water: Water is also very important for wild birds. They use it to clean their feathers and for drinking. Birds will also stop more often and stay longer if you can give them a source of fresh water like a bird bath, garden pond or fountain. Running water works best because birds can hear it, and it's easier for them to use if it's three inches deep or less. Place feeders near shrubs and trees for cover: wild birds are always at risk of predation. When they're at the feeder they spend more time looking out for hawks and other predators than they do feeding. Placing feeders near trees or shrubs offers them protection. Wild birds use trees and shrubs to escape and hide from predators, to rest and sometimes to nest. They will be happier using your feeders When you place them close to cover.
