Directions

Decide how much you want. Each serving equals about 2/3 cup. Number of servings - water (cups) - butter (Tbsp.) (or margarine or olive oil) - salt (tsp.) (optional) - milk (cups) - potato flakes (cups). 2 - 2/3 - 1 - 1/4 - 1/3 - 2/3. 4 - 1 1/4 - 2 - 1/2 - 2/3 - 1 1/3. 6 - 1 3/4 - 3 - 3/4 - 1 - 2. 12 - 3 1/2 - 6 - 1 1/4 - 2 - 4. About 36 (entire box) - 11 1/2 - 1 cup - 4 1/2 - 5 2/3 - entire box. Stove-top directions: Heat up water, butter and salt to boiling in saucepan. Remove from heat. Stir in milk and potato flakes with fork until potatoes are desired consistency. Note: prepare entire box recipe in an 8 quart stock pot and stir with a whisk. (Remember to refrigerate any leftovers). Microwave directions: Combine water, butter, salt, milk and potato flakes in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave covered on high using the chart below. Remove and stir with fork until potatoes are desired consistency. #of servings - microwave times: 2 - 2 to 2 1/2 (mins). 4 - 3 to 3 1/2 (mins). 6 - 4 1/2 to 5 (mins).
