Deep Frying: 1. Preheat oil to 350 degrees F. 2. In bowl, thoroughly combine mix and water. Let stand 5 minutes. 3. Using a teaspoon, drop batter into oil and fry 3 minutes or until golden brown. 4. Remove from fryer and drain on paper towels. Conventional Oven: 1. Combine the following ingredients in a medium-size bowl and mix well: 3/4 cup Hushpuppy mix; 1 egg; 1/2 cup milk or water; 1 tablespoon oil; 2 tablespoons sugar. 2. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Using a tablespoon, scoop batter into a lined or greased mini muffin tin. 3. Cook for 8-10 minutes. 4. Let cool and serve. Approximate Yield: Yield-20; Water-1/2 cup; Mix-1cup. Yield-30; Water-3/4 cup; Mix-1 ½ cups. Yield-40; Water-1 cup; Mix-2 cups. Yield-60; Water-1 1/2 cup; Mix-3 cups. Note: Water measurements are approximate. Increase or decrease the amount of water as necessary.
