Product Details
The Viberti winery, owned and managed by the family's 3rd generation, is a notable producer of world-renowned artisanal wines from the Piedmont region of northwestern Italy. Within the district of Barolo is the tiny village of Vergne where Antonio Viberti founded the winery in 1923. Antonio purchased an inn and trattoria known as Al Buon Padre, meaning good father, along with an adjoining farm with vineyards to produce Viberti's world class selections. La Gemella, meaning twin, is dedicated to the winemaker's mother Maria who is a twin herself and enjoys Barbera more than any other Piedmont varietal. Produced with 100% Barbera grapes from estate-owned vineyards, this vibrant red offers enticing aromas of flora and fresh blueberries. The palate highlights clean red fruit flavors framed around a bright acidity and a finish incorporating nuanced notes of spice. While delightful as a stand-alone glass of red, La Gemella pairs wonderfully with any of Italy's most famous dishes. opiciwinesandspirits.com.
