Installation Hints: Before using a wrench or pliers, protect the finish of the chrome nuts with cloth or tape. Installation Hints for Soldering: 1. Clean both tube and fitting to a bright metal. 2. Apply solder flux to outside of tube and inside of fitting so that surfaces to be joined are completely covered. 3. Apply flame to heat fitting and tube. Solder fitting and tube. Solder fitting until solder wire melts when placed at joint X. Tools Needed: Solder kit, soldering iron, adjustable wrench. Instructions: 1. Turn off water supply leading to work area. 2. Open faucet or flush toilet to remove water existing in line. Remove old valve and any old solder or compression nut/sleeve. 4. Slide flange over copper-stub out. 5. Attach valve to copper stub-out. Position valve outlet to receive supply tube. 6. Solder shut-off valve to copper. 7. Attach water supply tube to valve. 8. Turn on water to work area and test installation before leaving job site.
