Rubbermaid glass containers are safe for use in ovens up to 425 degrees F and in microwaves without a browning element. They are not for stovetop, broiler or toaster oven use. Lids are not oven safe but are safe for microwave use and are BPA free. Glass products require the utmost care, especially when cooking foods at hot temperatures. Please be aware of the risks of cooking in glassware containers: sudden temperature change may cause glass breakage; dropping or mishandling against a hard surface may cause glass breakage; handling hot containers may cause burning. General usage: rubbermaid glass can be used for storing and heating food. Glassware is freezer, refrigerator, and microwave safe. Use glassware for warming and reheating food in microwave oven and in preheated oven. Product is for normal household use only. Not intended for industrial use, commercial use, or camping. Microwave usage instructions: rubbermaid glass containers are safe for use in the microwave. Use minimum cooking time to heat oil or butter. Do not use product to microwave popcorn or heat foods wrapped in a heat-concentrating material. Plastic lids are made of microwave safe materials that can be used to reheat foods to a temperature comfortable for eating. These lids are not intended for cooking or for use in a conventional oven. Lift corner of lid to allow steam to vent when microwaving. Sealing plastic lid while heating may create extra pressure causing lid to melt, warp, or creating excessive steam build up. Always open container away from body to prevent burns. Oven usage instructions: do not use plastic lids in conventional or convection oven. Plastic lids are for microwave use only. Only the glass bases are safe for use in the conventional oven. Always handle hot glassware with dry potholders. Oven must be preheated before inserting glassware. Cleaning instructions: rubbermaid glass is dishwasher safe. When washing by hand use non-abrasive cleansers. If more vigorous cleaning is necessary, soak and clean with non-scratch plastic or nylon scouring pad. Rubbermaid glass lids are top-rack dishwasher safe. Be sure that the lid is secured so that it does not come in contact with the dishwasher element to avoid melting.
