Wash in hot soapy water. Rinse and dry immediately. To avoid having small white dots or pits appearing on the cookware, either add salt well after the food has started to cook or bring liquids to a boil before adding salt, and then stir well. Pitting doesn't interfere with the performance of your cookware, but can diminish the beauty of stainless steel. Overheating can cause brown or blue stains. Any type of food residue that remains after a pan or pot is clean will also cause the pot to discolor when the piece is reheated. Large amounts of iron content in your water may cause your pot to appear rusty. Cookware Use Instructions: Gradually increase cookware's temperature to the desired heat setting before adding oil. Allow cookware to cool before immersing it in water. Do not overheat empty cookware. Make sure that oil, water or some type of food is inside the cookware prior to heating it for cooking. Select burner that most closely matches the size of the bottom of the pan. User Instructions: Stainless Steel Cookware: Before First Use: Remove any tags or stickers. Rinse with warm soapy water and towel dry. Oven Instructions: Metal pot is oven safe to 500 degrees F. Tempered glass lids are oven safe to 350 degrees F. Not suitable for use in the microwave. This item is safe for cooking on gas, electric, halogen, and induction stovetops. Handle Precautions: Always use proper safety procedures when preparing food on the stovetop or in the oven. Long cooking durations or very high temperatures may cause the handles to become too hot. Shorter handles, because of their length, may easily become too hot to handle. Care and Cleaning: Martha Stewart stainless steel cookware is dishwasher safe. Use automatic dishwashing detergent without bleach or citrus additives. However, hand wash recommended to maintain the luster and shine of stainless steel cookware. Pans should have cooled down fully before being washed. Do not submerge hot cookware in cold water. For light cleaning, with a nonabrasive sponge, wash the stainless steel cookware with hot soapy water and a small amount of baking soda to combat grease. Dry immediately. For tough, baked on food or grease, use a dry sponge to rub salt against the walls and the bottom of the cookware. Then, wash the stainless steel cookware with hot soapy water, rinse and dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners, pads, oven cleaners or caustic cleaning solutions to clean the cookware. When storing, we recommend that you place a protective sheet between your pots and pans to minimize wear and tear. If the pan's burn marks cannot be scrubbed away with baking soda, salt, or soap, they can sometimes be cooked off. Begin by filling the pan with enough water to cover the burn marks, and bring the water to a boil. Add a few spoonfuls of salt to the water, turn off the heat, and let the pan sit for several hours. (You should only add the salt when the water is already boiling. If you add salt to cold water, it might pit the metal.) Once the cookware has soaked for a while, empty the water out and scrub the remaining burn marks with a scouring pad until they have all been removed. If the stains persist, repeat this process. To Maintain Luster: Immerse the cookware in hot water. Mix a fine powder cleanser with water until it forms a smooth paste. Using a soft cloth, apply paste evenly and lightly to the wet cookware. Rub the paste into the cookware in a circular motion from the center outward.

General Safety and Care: Do not boil dry. Empty cookware on a hot burner will get extremely hot, which may result in personal injury and/or property damage. Do not slide or drag cookware over stovetop, especially glass/ceramic stovetops, as scratches to stovetop may result. Follow your stovetop manufacturer's instructions regarding appropriate handling of different cookware on glass/ceramic stovetops. Never place hot cookware on a cool ceramic/glass stovetop, as this can cause the cooking element to crack or fuse to cooking surface.Manufacturer
