Directions

Stove top directions: In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups water, 1 tablespoon margarine or butter and contents of package to a boil.* Reduce heat and simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes or until rice is tender. Sauce will thicken upon standing about 1-2 minutes. Microwave directions: In a 1-1/2 quart microwave safe casserole dish, combine 2 cups water, 1 tablespoon margarine or butter and contents of package*. Microwave at high 12 to 14 minutes or until rice is tender**. Stir. *For a lower calorie side dish (1/2 cup serving), leave out margarine or butter. * *Microwave ovens may vary, adjust times as needed. Low wattage ovens may require 18 to 20 minutes.
