Product Details
The wines of Italy are seldom called out by their varietal name, but more specifically, the wine growing regions of Italy are synonymous with certain varieties. Thus if you know your region, you know your varietal. Here in the High Plains of West Texas, it is difficult to find a grape variety with such a name and stature. Thus we rely on an acronym IFB. This stands for Italian Field Blend - Sangiovese 55%, Montepulciano 25%, Dolcetto 15%, and Alicante 5%. These varietals are the heart and soul of all parts of Italy - North, South, and in between. Wonderful varietals that lend themselves to making wines with racy acidity, ripe red fruit characters, and soft tannins. IFB has all of these attributes and more. Certainly it is unique, but once you get to know it, you will agree, Bravissimo! Fields of prosperity by Kendall Rabon, represents our first artist series label. www.mcphersoncellars.com.
