Directions

Serving: 1; 1/4 cup grits; 1 cup water; 1/3 tsp salt. Serving: 2; 1/2 cup grits; 2 cups water; 2/3 tsp salt. Serving: 4; 1 cup grits; 4 cups water; 1-1/4 tsp salt. 1. Pour measured amount of grits into a heavy saucepan. 2. Cover with water and stir. Next, pour off as much water as possible to remove large pieces of bran. 3. Add measured amount of fresh water to rinsed grits to bring to a boil. 4. Turn down heat and simmer uncovered, stirring periodically. Cook approximately 30 minutes, adding more liquid if necessary. 5. When cooking 4 servings or more. Additional cooking time is needed. Season and enjoy! Store at room temperature.
