Use and Care: This thermometer is not designed to be left in the meat during cooking process. 1. Remove meat from oven and insert thermometer approximately 2 inches into the center of the thickest part of the meat. Avoid touching bones, fat or gristle. 2. Hold thermometer in meat for 15-20 seconds or until dial stops rising to check temperature. 3. If desired temperature is not reached, return meat to the oven for further cooking. Re-check until the correct temperature is reached. Protective sleeve included. Thermometer will melt if left in the oven. To Clean: Do not immerse in water; wipe stem with a clean damp cloth or wipe with alcohol as a disinfectant. Calibration: Your thermometer is already calibrated for accuracy. Over time, if you feel needs adjustment, follow these steps. 1. Prepare a cup of ice with a small amount of water. Insert the stem into the water; do not touch the ice. Temperature should read 32 degrees F (0 degrees C). 2. To adjust, twist the nut behind face until proper reading is shown.
