Requires (1) L1154 Alkaline. Cell Battery (included) 1.5V Ensure the batteries are installed correctly with regard to polarity (+ and -). 1. Flip switch to the "on" position. 2. Flip F/C switch to desired temp range Centigrade or Fahrenheit. 3. Insert stem at least 1 inch into the thickest part of meat. 4. Digits will stabilize when reading is complete. 5. To clean, wipe with a damp cloth. Do not immerse in water or clean in dishwasher. Warning: contains coin battery. Remove and immediately recycle or dispose of used batteries according to local regulations and keep away from children. Do not dispose of batteries in household trash or incinerate. Even used batteries may cause severe injury or death. Call a local poison control center for treatment information. Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. Do not force discharge, recharge, disassemble, heat above (140 degrees F/60 degrees C) temperature or incinerate. Doing so may result in injury due to venting, leakage or explosion resulting in chemical burns.
