Product Details
The Yamhill-Carlton American Viticultural Area was established in 2004. The federal petition to create the area was authored by Ken Wright and was one of six sub-AVA's created simultaneously in the northern Willamette Valley. This AVA is dominated by ancient sedimentary parent material (mother rock). The weathered sandstone and siltstone substrata were originally created by the subduction of the Juan de Fuca plate as it plunged underneath the North American continent. Pinot noir produced from this region displays savory, spicy and floral qualities and a lush textural palate. Artwork by David Berkvan. Oregon promise. kenwrightcellars.com.
