Montes Alpha wines have been crafted using grapes selected from our vineyards in the Colchagua Valley, which are irrigated under our Sustainable Dry Farming regime. Developed by Aurelio Montes and his team after years of research and investigation, this viticultural practice now allows us to determine the exact level of irrigation required by vines after the winter rains, resulting in a 65% decrease in our water footprint and in wines with enhanced fruitiness and aromatic expression. Deep ruby red with a fruity nose recalling strawberries and ripe cherries complemented by blackberries, black currant, toffee, and coffee. 12 months in French oak barrels lend complexity and elegance. Black fruits reappear on the concentrated palate along with tobacco, vanilla, and soft, round tannins. Well balanced, distinctive, and creamy, with a long, pleasing finish. www.monteswines.com.
