Est. 1983. Stewardship of the land. This bottling is made from the first 15 acres of Pinot Noir planted by Founder Jim Bernau in 1983. The vines are self-rooted, sustainably farmed and cropped down to enhance aroma and flavor. Each vintage, as part of our Single Vineyard Designate series, we select the finest barrel lots to create a wine that exudes a unique sense of place. - Jim Bernau, Founder/Winegrower. - Joe Ibrahim, Winemaker. This high quality wine is gently made and may have some sediment, please carefully pour or decant. Technical: Pinot Noir Clones: Dijon 667 and 777. Soil Type: Jory (iron rich volcanic) and Nekia (shallow, iron rich volcanic). Barrel Regimen: 16 months in French Oak. Oak: 22% new. Barrels Produced: 56. Harvest: October 5-9, 2017. Brix at Harvest: 22.9 degrees. Peak Drinkability: 2019-2024. All of our vineyards are certified sustainable - LIVE (Low Input Viticulture and Enology) and salmon-safe. Salmon safe.
