Safe Handling Instructions: This product was prepared from inspected and passed meat and/or poultry. Some food products may contain bacteria that could cause illness if the product is mishandled or cooked improperly. For your protection, follow these safe handling instructions. Keep meat and poultry separate from other foods. Wash surfaces, utensils and hands after touching raw meat or poultry. Cook thoroughly. Keep hot foods hot. Refrigerate leftovers immediately or discard. Baking: Completely skin and trim ham. Soak overnight in cold water. Wrap ham completely heavy aluminum foil in a manner to retain juices, and pour approximately 1-2 cup of water inside the aluminum wrap. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 20 minutes per pound. Cook to 160 degrees F. Pan Broil or Fry: Since the ham 1/4 inch - 3/8 inch slices, trim the outside edges and put fat in covered frying pan (set on medium heat). Cook fat until golden brown. Remove fat and place ham slices in pan. Brown on both sides but be careful not to overcook as it will make ham hard. To make red eye gravy for two people, pour 1/3 cup of coffee to ham dripping in the pan and stir for approximately 1/2 minutes. If ham is covered in mold, do not be alarmed; aged hams will mold without damage or danger. You should, however, wash ham in hot water and scrub off mold and peppers with a stiff brush.
