Established 1975. Ryan vineyard. In 1975, legendary vintner and pioneer josh jensen founded calera (spanish for lime kiln) high on the majestic slopes of Mt. Harlin in the Gavilan mountains of California's central coast. In these low-yielding, limestone-rich soils and cool, arid climate, he began planting estate vineyards that are now recognized as some of the new world's most treasured pinot noir sites.
