Directions
1. Stack briquets in a pyramid. Add lighter fluid following lighter fluid directions. 2. Light charcoal. Leave grill uncovered. Flames will die out while the briquets continue to burn and start to ash over. 3. Spread briquets in a single layer when covered in ash (in about 15 minutes). Begin cooking. Cooking tips: Kingsford® long-burning charcoal briquets are designed for various cooking methods. They provide long-burning performance and can be used for grilling, slow cooking or smoking. Grilling: For general grilling, open up the grill vents for higher temperatures and reduce the vent openings to lower the temperature. Cooking with the lid off creates the highest heat, levels, while cooking with the lid on chokes off the air for slower cooking methods. Smoking & slow cooking: Slow cooking is a process of barbecuing for long periods of time at low temperatures to add flavor and tenderize. Pour coals on one side of the grill to create cooking zones. Cook over a drip pan with water on the empty side, reducing the vents to achieve lower temperature and maintain moisture.
