Directions for Use: Mussels must be cooked before consumption. Mussels can be cooked from frozen but for best results defrost 8 - 10 hours in refrigerator first at 4 degrees C. Cooking Suggestions (Thawed Mussels): Grill for 5 - 6 minutes. Bake for 5 - 7 minutes in preheated oven at 170 degrees C. Steam for approximately 3 minutes. Important: Must be kept frozen to maintain safety. This product is heat shocked and persons who are either pregnant or immune compromised should either avoid this product or cook it properly before consumption. Keep frozen 0 degrees F (-18 degrees C). Keep frozen 0 degrees F or below. Do not refreeze once thawed.

We farm our delicious Greenshell mussels in the pristine clean waters of New Zealands Coromandel and Waiheke Island bays. These Growing areas are continually monitored for their cleanliness. The mussels are harvested daily by our own barges and transported by Sea Products refrigerated trucks to our new processing factory, only two hours away in Drury Auckland. This modern factory utilizes the latest hygienic processing equipment which enables quick handling of the juicy mussels. Within hours of being harvested, the Greenshell mussels are processed and snap frozen, ensuring that their freshness, flavour and plump condition can be maintained until the very moment they reach your plate. Sea products is a family business with mussels and oyster farms around the Coromandel area and processing plants in Drury, Auckland. All farms, like the one pictured, are sustainably managed.
