To Replace the Spool Cap and Spring: 1. Disconnect the power source. 2. Release tobs as shown in fig. 1 to remove the spool cap. 3. Place the new spring's small end onto the center post of the cap as shown in fig. 2. 4. Press the spring down and rotate it until it snaps into place as shown in Fig. 3. When the spring is in place it will be seated flat against the bottom of the cap. 5. Snap the spool cap back into place on the trimmer.
