Microwave Instructions: Slice tongue as needed. Place slices on paper towel, microwave at medium power for 5 to 8 minutes. If you do not use a whole package at one time - we suggest slicing the tongue as thick as you normally would and freezing portions in plastic bags. These portions can be thawed overnight in your refrigerator or microwaved on a piece of paper towel at medium power for 5 to 8 minutes depending upon the size of the portion. Hot: Place entire package with casing intact in simmering water for 20 to 30 minutes. Freirich Tongue may then be used as a hot main dish with a variety of sauces, such as: horseradish, mustard, and sweet and sour raisin sauce. It can be glazed with jelly or marmalade (Reheat the glazed tongue in the oven at 300 degrees for 10 minutes). Cold: Just slice and serve Freirich Cooked Tongue. (It can be served cold in salads, in sandwiches, and for barbeque). Also as a main dish on a cold meat platter. Keep refrigerated. Microwaveable. See instructions.
