Safe Handling Instructions. This product was prepared from inspected and passed meat and/or poultry. Some food products may contain bacteria that could cause illness if the product is mishandled or cooked improperly. For your protection, follow these safe handling instructions. Keep refrigerated or frozen. Thaw in refrigerator or microwave. Keep raw meat and poultry separate from other foods. Wash working surfaces (including cutting boards), utensils, and hands after touching raw meat or poultry. Cook thoroughly. Keep hot foods hot. Refrigerate leftovers immediately or discard. Oven: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Remove product from package. Season as desired. Place product in pan, skin side up, and cook for 1.5-2 hours, until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F (Actual cooking time will vary depending on size and oven. Let stand 15 minutes before carving). Line pan with aluminum foil if desired. Slow Cooker: Spray bottom of slow cooker with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Place roast skin side up in slow cooker. Add 1/2 cup liquid. Cover and cook on low up to 8 hours or on high up to 4 hours. Cook until roast reaches internal temperature of 165 degrees F as measured with a meat thermometer. Once done, remove from the slow cooker and let stand 10 minutes for easier carving. Grill: Remove product from package. Season as desired. Grill at 250 degrees F-350 degrees F over indirect heat for 1.5-3 hours, until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F (Actual cooking time will vary depending on size and cooking equipment. Let stand 15 minutes before carving). (Optional: For crispier skin, finish by charring skin side down over direct heat for a few minutes). Smoker: Remove product from package. Season as desired. Smoke at 250-300 degrees F over indirect heat for 1.5-3 hours, until temperature reaches 165 F (Actual cooking time will vary depending on size and cooking equipment. Let stand 15 minutes before carving). Refreeze or keep refrigerated.
