Easy cooking directions. Stove top directions: 1. Mix 2 cups water, 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or butter (optional) and Zatarain's garden vegetable rice mix in 2 quart saucepan. 2. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 25 minutes or until most of the water is absorbed and rice is tender. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving. Microwave directions: Microwave ovens vary; cooking times may need to be adjusted. Cooking times are based on an 1100 watt microwave oven. 1. Mix 2 3/4 cups water, 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or butter (optional) and Zatarain's garden vegetable rice mix in 2 1/2 quart microwavable bowl until well blended. 2. Microwave, uncovered, on high 20 to 22 minutes or until most of the water is absorbed and rice is tender. 3. Let stand in microwave 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving. Caution: Bowl and contents will be very hot. Use pot holders when removing from microwave. Note: Water and cook time may be adjusted to yield firmer or softer rice.
